Outdoor curved stairlifts
Weatherproofed for external steps that turn — a front door approach that bends, a side return, or a flight down into a garden following the path.
What actually happens when you order a curved stairlift, in the order it happens, with the waiting explained.
A curved stairlift cannot be quoted down the phone and cannot be ordered from a photograph. The rail is manufactured from measurements taken in your house, so the survey is the job.
It takes about half an hour. We measure every tread, the angle and radius of the turn, the headroom where it is tightest, and the space at the top and bottom where the lift will park. We check where the nearest socket is. Then you get a price in writing.
This is the part people are not warned about. A straight rail is cut from stock and can be fitted the same week. A curved rail is a production run of one, made to your measurements, and it has to be built before anyone can fit anything.
That is the whole reason curved stairlifts take longer. It is not the fitting — most stairlifts are installed in just a few hours once the rail is on site. We will give you a realistic date at the point of quoting rather than a best case you then have to chase.
The rail bolts to the treads of the staircase, not to the wall. No structural work, no replastering, nothing that cannot be undone later with the tread holes filled.
Once it is in we run the lift through its full travel, test the safety edges and the seatbelt, and show you how to use it — including how to park it so the batteries charge, and how to fold it back so the stairs stay usable for everyone else.
We stay until whoever is actually going to use it has driven it themselves and is happy. If there is an old lift, it leaves with us.
Two things worth knowing about beyond a standard indoor install.

We repair stairlifts across London whoever fitted them. A curved lift that stops is more urgent, because there is usually no short flight to manage on foot.
If yours only runs when parked, or dies partway up, that is usually the battery system rather than the motor. Often a quick fix.
Replacing a curved lift with another is common. Taking the old rail out is part of the job and part of the quoted price.
We are based in Winchmore Hill and cover Greater London. If your address is not on the list it is still worth calling — we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
